Nurturing Creativity In Education is an initiative of Krishnamurti Foundation India, Bangalore Study Centre that was started in 2018. The response to the two editions conducted during that year was very encouraging. Both editions were fully booked, participants’ feedback was appreciative and repeated requests were made for more such programmes.

Consequently, in 2019, nine editions are planned, spread out between February and December.

These programmes address the basic and common questions that confront all educators relating to :

  • Present system of education and its limitations
  • Knowledge, how it is acquired, its limitation as well as its place in education
  • Movement of learning and the significance of discovery as a tool
  • Importance of developing a questioning mind in the student
  • Investigating insight and perception and their flowering in the student
  • Intellect and intelligence - difference between them and place in education
  • Education and aspects of the human being that cannot be reached by the faculty of the intellect

The study retreats include introduction, overview and exploration of the questions, appropriate extracts from J Krishnamurti’s talks and writings, group discussions among participants and time for individual study as well as space for walks and quiet.

Study material provided varies from edition to edition so that participants who feel the need for attending repeat programmes approach the questions raised afresh every time.

The programmes are residential. Maximum of 12 participants per edition is possible. All programmes begin on Saturday by 12 Noon and end on the Monday following by 1:30 PM. Participants can arrive by air / train in the morning on Saturday and depart by air / train in the evening on Monday.
